Why do I receive the following error when starting MATLAB after applying Bug Patch 1184018 for Simulink R2014b?

MATLAB:dispatcher:loadLibrary Can't load 'C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2014b\bin\win64\libmwsimulink.dll': Unkown error.

WARNING: Failed to load file "C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2014b\bin\win64\libmwsimulink.dll".

Caught MathWorks::System::FatalException

This error will occur if you apply the patch but the original files still remain in the folder.

When applying the patch make sure to overwrite the existing files in your MATLAB folder that are affected by this patch.

If you have renamed the original files and completed the patch, make sure to delete any old renamed files.

If you continue to have any issues with this process, you can re-download and re-install MATLAB. As of January 2015, the patch has been slipstreamed into all R2014a and R2014b installers.

This is a bug in MATLAB R2017a (and earlier) that was fixed in R2017b.

To work around the issue, convert the object to a struct before saving it:
