MATLAB: ‘Pop-up’ text box – SIMULINK

Hi,

I would like to implement something in a Simulink Model, what I can click on and which then shows me some text. What I am thinking of is a button, which I can click on and a 'pop-up' appears with the text.

I would like to use it as a 'help' window, where I explain, how I implemented the model.

What I found out so far is that I could use an Annotation with a ClickFcn, looks good, but what would be a MATLAB command which gives me a text 'pop-up'? Or are the totally different solutions?

Yes it is possible.

STR = {'a';'b';'c'};  % Use for popup1;
STR2 = {{'f';'g';'h'};{'i';'j';'k'};{'l';'m';'n'}}; % popup2 (after)

Now if the user selects 'a' in popup1, that is 'value' 1, so set the 'string' of popup2 to STR2{{1}}. If the user selects 'b' in popup1, that is 'value' 2, so set the 'string' of popu2 to STR2{{2}}, etc...

If you want the user not to be able to choose a value from popup2 until a choice has been made in popup1, set its 'enable' property to 'off' until the choice has been made. To do this you will have to enable popup2 and fill its string from within the callback to popup1.

If you use GUIDE and double click your text edit box you'll bring up the property inspector. In there you'll see a callback for the key press function. Click the icon for that to go to the code for that. In there, get the text from the edit box and do something with it, such as display it in a static text label:

set(handles.staticText, 'String', editTextString);
