MATLAB: Plot text box question

This is what my code looks like. I want to have a textbox that says n=3 on my graph (without actually typing 3 in the code), but I don't remember the syntax for it. Thank you!
x=[1 2 3];
y=[1 2 3];
n=3;
figure
plot(x,y)
text(0,800,'n=') % what do I need to put after the n=?

text(0,800,sprintf('n=%d',n)  %for integers
text(0,800,sprintf('n=%.3f',pi)  %for non-integers (showing 3dp)
