MATLAB: Passes functions in GUI

i have a GUI with 2 edit text and pushbutton, when i press the button , the value that i entered in edit1 must be passes to a program , make some calculation and then retern the value and put it in edit2. th problem that face me is the program have a function. so how i will deal with that?please help me

Jan Meyer - make sure that the WindowKeyPressFcn property of the figure has been assigned correctly for your GUI. Using GUIDE, launch the Property Inspector for the figure, and verify that the WindowKeyPressFcn property is set to

 @(hObject,eventdata)movedslider('figure1_WindowKeyPressFcn',hObject,eventdata,guidata(hObject))

where the callback (in your code) will then be

 function figure1_WindowKeyPressFcn(hObject, eventdata, handles)

 %  Key: name of the key that was pressed, in lower case

This is slightly different from what you have where the WindowKeyPressFcn is prefixed with the name of the GUI. With the above, I was able to get the pushbutton callback to fire when I pressed the x key.

You need to put a static text label on your GUI with a tag of txtValue (or whatever you want). Then in each callback where you want to change handles.value you need to have this:

handles.value = handles.value + 80; % Or whatever value you want.
handles.txtValue.String = sprintf('The Value now = %.1f', handle.value);
% Update handles structure
guidata(hObject, handles); % Not calling this was your problem.
