MATLAB: Pass variables’s name and their values from gui to workspace

Hello : how can i pass variables's name and their values from gui to workspace?. i want to run a gui progam and give the result in the workspace and work with them in the commands window. could you please help me? Thank you .

Use the function assignin, and store your variables on the 'base' workspace. For instance, to store variable x:

x = 1:10;
assignin('base','x',x)

You pass the value of the variable only. The name of variables does not matter usually. Keeping important information in the name of a variable is a bad programming practice. See: FAQ: How to create A1, A2, ....

If you really want to pass a value and a name to a function, use something like:

function myFunc(Name, Value)

with Name is a string carrying the name and Value is the value. If this sounds trivial - sorry. Sometimes the trivial solutions are the best.

MATLAB: GUI

If you want to access data that is in base workspace in your gui functions, use

 v = evalin('base','name of variable u want to access');
 % the variable's data is now stored in v.

If u want to save data of ur gui work space to base, use

 assignin('base','name of variable u want to save','value of variable');
