MATLAB: Not enough input arguments for read an immage

error

Hi, I'm new to MATLAB and am having some trouble. I want read an immage form a function. this is my code:

 function [j]=readimmage(img_gray);
p=im2bw(img_gray);
imshow(p);

The error is:

Not enough input arguments.

Error in readimmage (line 2) p=im2bw(img_gray);

i know that i can use imread function but… how can I read an image file using a function unless imread ?

Check out the documentation. The function im2bw needs two arguments:

 BW = im2bw(I, level)

Where level is a number between 0 and 1, and is the cutoff for a pixel being classified as white or black. So this should work:

function [j]=readimmage(img_gray)
  p=im2bw(img_gray,0.5);
  imshow(p);
end

If your image array is IM and it is already the datatype that you want, then

red_IM = cast(cat(3, IM, zeros(size(IM)), zeros(size(IM))), class(IM));
green_IM = cast(cat(3, zeros(size(IM)), IM, zeros(size(IM))), class(IM));
blue_IM = cast(cat(3, zeros(size(IM)), zeros(size(IM)), IM), class(IM));

If your grayscale is 0 to 1 and you want to convert it to 0 to 255, then before doing the above, do

IM = uint8(IM * 256);

GG = cell(8,1) ;
    for k=1:1*8

        GG{k} = G ;
        figure        
        imshow(G);% at this point i am getting images which i am not able to recombine.kindly suggest something here
    end
I = [GG{:}]

Now I is your whole image....
