MATLAB: MSVCP120.dll was not found or MSVCR20.dll was not found

Why do I get a system error when I start RoadRunner that reports that MSVCR120.dll and/or MSVCP120.dll were not found?

This error is caused by missing the Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 redistributable. Resolve this error by downloading and installing the redistributable from Microsoft via this link:

Note: Using a more recent version, e.g. Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019, will not resolve this issue; Road Runner requires the 2013 version.
