how to implement meijerG function in matlab??

In order to do that, you will have to convert ‘A’ to a symbolic object as well:

function [A] = Test(a,b)
    A = sym('A',[1 2])
    A(1,1)=a+1;
    A(1,2)=b;
end

then:

Q = Test(0,b)
Q =
[ 1, b]

You are right the error which is thrown is due to the string, so you may change the string to symbolic expression by this,

df = subs(df0, str2sym('diff(x(t),t)'), str2sym('t+x(t)^2'));
