MATLAB: Lock figure axes/position

Hi folks,

I have a GUI which creates a figure. By clicking a button, the figure got zoomed in on a special point selected. I want the figure to be locked on that position so that the user can't change the position. All I want to allow the user is to rotate on that specific position but noch change the values of x,y,z.

Is there a way to lock/fix the position?

I solved the problem with the axtoolbar command. The pan option is still available on the menubar, but no longer on the toolbar.

You can use SET command to change the MenuBar and Toolbar properties of the figure to control whether the menubar and toolbar are shown in a MATLAB figure.

The possible values for Menu Bar are:

 'none'  - the menubar is not shown
 'figure' - the menubar is shown

The possible values for ToolBar are:

 'none' - the toolbar is not shown
 'auto' - the toolbar is controlled by the menubar.  If MenuBar is set to 'figure', then the toolbar is shown.  If 'MenuBar is set to 'none', then the toolbar isn't shown.
 'figure' - the toolbar is shown

For example, the following code will open a figure without the menubar and toolbar:

hFigure = figure;
set(hFigure, 'MenuBar', 'none');
set(hFigure, 'ToolBar', 'none');

This is currently the expected behavior. Here are two possible workarounds:

1) Enable the interactions via the axes toolbar ("axtoolbar"), which is available in R2018b and later. The interactions can be enabled by clicking the desired control in the toolbar.

2) Alternatively, enable the specific interaction programatically, as exemplified below:

%enable pan
pan(ax2, 'on');
%enable rotate
rotate3d(ax2, 'on');
% enable zoom
zoom(ax2, 'on');

Note: This method only allows one interaction (pan, zoom, rotate, etc.) to be enabled at a time.
