MATLAB: Is there a way to manipulate a local scope data member of the stateflow under test in the simulink test module

I understand that parameter overrides in simulink test can be performed via the test manager. Is there a similar option available for overriding local data members of the stateflow under test?

Hi Vivek, Unfortunately such a functionality doesn't exist. Local data members of a stateflow chart cannot be overriden. Although, you can try adding a data store memory (for the local data member to be overriden) and setting the initial value to a parameter and then add a test in Test Manger to override this parameter. Typically no, because Simulink Functions are an independent entity inside the Stateflow chart.

However, Simulink Functions can access data with scope Data Store Memory.

1. Using the Symbols pane (View > Symbols) and the Property Inspector (View > Property Inspector), set the scope of the variable you want to access from Stateflow chart as Data Store Memory.

2. Add a Data Store Memory block to the Simulink model that parents the chart.

3. Add a Data Store Read block in the Simulink function inside the chart to read this data.

MATLAB: Test iterations based on Table in Data Dictionary

Just posting an update to my original question:

To clarify, my data dictionary is configured to not allow direct access from the base work space, for a variety of reasons.

As to using data from this dictionary to generate test iterations - I do this to avoid manual update to the test iterations if the data in the dictionary changes, as this data is used by multiple modules.

The answer on how to use this data is loading it into the base workspace at test run time.

Data is stored in "dictionary.sldd" under the "transitions" object. I pass this to my nested loop under the variable "Table"

% Open the dictionary object
DictObj = Simulink.data.dictionary.open('dictionary.sldd'); %open the dictionary object%
% Retrieve the section of the dictionary containing the data
SectObj = getSection(DictObj,'Design Data');
% Retrieve the data I care about
Entry = getEntry(SectObj,'transitions');
% Store the Entire entry
temp = getValue(Entry);
% Store the Value of the entry for generation of test iterations
Table = t.Value;
