Is MATLAB supported on Sun Blade workstations?

Best Answer

MATLAB 6.x (R12.x) and 6.5 (R13) are supported on Sun Solaris 8. Since the current Sun Blade workstations run on a Solaris 8 operating system, MATLAB 6.x (R12.x) should be able to run on Sun Blade.
PLEASE NOTE: The Sun Blade machine uses 64-bit architecture; because MATLAB is a 32-bit application, it will not take advantage of the 64-bit platform.
PLEASE NOTE: We have not officially tested MATLAB 6.x (R12.x) or MATLAB 6.5 (R13) on Sun Blade machines. Therefore, although we are not aware of any known issues or problems, the Sun Blade machines are not officially supported by MathWorks.
You might consider posting your question to the USENET newsgroup, comp.soft-sys.matlab, which is a forum for discussing issues related to the use of MATLAB. This newsgroup is monitored by thousands of MATLAB users, one of who might share their experiences with the Sun Blade. One place to access the newsgroup is at the following URL under "Other Online Support Resources."
