I have MATLAB 7.0 (R14) for Opteron, and want to use the MATLAB Compiler also.

This enhancement has been incorporated in Release 14 Service Pack 2 (R14SP2). For previous product releases, please read below for any possible workarounds:
The MATLAB Compiler is currently not available for Opteron systems except those running the 32-bit version of MATLAB.
