MATLAB: Is it worth taking MathWorks Certified MATLAB Exams

certification

In a question a few days ago (maybe a week) I was made aware of the MathWorks Certification Program. I've never heard of it or seen anyone with one. Obviously it would be something shiny and nice to put on the wall but is it actually useful for job hunting and career growth? Do contributors in the top 50 (non-mathworks employees) even have one certification? It seems quite expensive for the amount of money to just take both exams which goes up to programming and using GUIDE. Additionally I get the impression the classes are mandatory.
%%edit: forgot to put in that I'm asking from the view of someone who's been using Matlab for many years, programmed GUIs and been active on this site working their way to the top 50.

From what I've heard, it should be no problem for anyone who's used it a number of years. I looked over some questions on it once and they were pretty easy. By the way, I don't have it and don't plan on getting it because I won't need it.
