I understand that the Virtual Reality Toolbox provides a WRL viewer that can be used in Simulink to view virtual worlds. However, I would like to use some other external WRL players in Simulink.

The ability to use external WRL player with Simulink is not available in Virtual Reality Toolbox 4.5 (R2007a). The user can only use the Virtual Reality Toolbox viewer or blaxxun Contact VRML plug-in.

Simulink 3D Animation supports only VRML97 format with files saved in .wrl extension. You can convert the virtual world from X3D format to VRML format in X3D-Edit or using Titania X3D Editor.
