MATLAB: Is it possible to elaborate on the “Distribute Blocks” options in the Format menu of Simulink 7.1 (R2008a)

In the documentation for Simulink 7.1 (R2008a), the section "Aligning, Distributing, and Resizing Groups of Blocks" does not indicate the difference between

Format->Distribute Blocks->Distribute Blocks Horizontally/Vertically

and

Format->Distribute Blocks->Make Horizontal/Vertical Gaps Even

It can be difficult to visually discern the difference between these two choices in some models.

When you choose "Distribute Blocks Horizontally", the blocks are set to have equal spacing between their centers.

When you choose "Make Horizontal Gaps Even", the blocks are set to have equal spacing between their outer edges.

The difference is illustrated in the attached diagram.
