MATLAB: In Matlab ,How to store an 8 bit value to the string

Question

Consider,

b(1,1,1)='10010101'

I would like to do like this:

k(2)=b(1,1,1)??

Is it possible?

You can do it with braces to make it a cell:

b{1,1,1} = '10010101'
k(2) = b(1,1,1)
