MATLAB: If I change the hostname of the license server, what changes will I have to make to the server and client installations

MATLAB

The hostname of my license server will be changed soon. I would like to know if I have to make any changes to the installation or license file of the license manager or client installations of MATLAB.

If you change the hostname of the license server, you will not need to generate a new license file, but you may need to update the SERVER line in the existing client and server license files, or environment variables. The license file is locked to either the MAC address or IP address of the server, so it is not necessary to activate and generate a new license file.
The second entry in the SERVER line of the license file identifies the license server by hostname or IP address. Any license file that references the hostname must be updated to the new hostname. Similarly, any client that uses the "LM_LICENSE_FILE" (or "MLM_LICENSE_FILE") environment variable with the "port@hostname" notation must be updated to use the new hostname.
