MATLAB: I have upgraded the MATLAB Compiler installation; should I redistribute the MCR to the application users if I recompile the application

I have just upgraded my MATLAB Compiler. I have already distributed my application and the MCR to my users. The next time I recompile with the resulting new application, do I need to have them install this new MCR?

This change has been incorporated into the documentation in Release 14 Service Pack 3 (R14SP3). For previous releases, read below for any additional information:
You should always run a compiled application with the corresponding version of MATLAB Component Runtime (MCR). As a result, you should deploy the updated MCR along with your application.
