MATLAB: I have doubts regarding Sprintf().

mess=sprintf('Steps to be followed to work with our Image Compressor \n step1)click on Load image button to laod the image to be compressed \n step2)'); helpdlg(mess,'help');

 Now I wanna display the first line in my sprintf() in bold characters with some additional font size . Is it possible? if yes provide necessary changes to be made or suggest any other command that i can use.

QUESTDLG wraps the text automatically at a certain width. Several paragraphs can be obtained by using a cell string, perhaps with an empty string as separator:

Str = ['asdhgaiosdzgoaszdlbas l lashb kjha sd,man bsdljhakshdg v ', ...
       'öaiosuh asödh ljhansbd kjash dbkashdg'];
questdlg(Str);
questdlg({Str, '', Str})

Look at the doc textwrap command also.

MATLAB: How to bold dialog box

You can tell msgbox, inputdlg, warndlg, errordlg, and questdlg (and maybe others?) to use a tex interpreter. They all default to no interpreter, I believe. Here is an example for msgbox:

CreateStruct.Interpreter = 'tex';
CreateStruct.WindowStyle = 'non-modal'; % you need to supply this field too. default is non-modal
msgbox('\bf This is bold', CreateStruct);
