MATLAB: How to switch from academic license to home license

On a mac, I was using an academic licensed version. Now I have purchased the home license with additional capabilities. I performed a new download, and selected the home license during the activation process. However, each time I start the app, the academic license is displayed.

Any other steps I need to do?

Look in your ~/.matlab/ folder and you will see directories with names such as R2016a_licenses. Inside there you will have one or more files with the form

license_HOSTNAME_LICENSENUMBER_RELEASE.lic

for example license_tanuki_1234567_R2016a.lic

those are your actual license files. If you have multiple files there and you rename the one for your academic license then your Home license should prevail.
