MATLAB: How to stop for loop

for j=rr-3
    for i=1:rr-1
        if X(i)<=t(j) && t(j)<=X(i+1)
        N{1}(j,i)=1;
        else 
        N{1}(j,i)=0;
        end
    end
end

I want when the code catches N{1}(j,i)=1, then for the rest of N{1}(j,i)=0..How can I do this. I tried another ifelse and for lop but didn't work. Do you have any idea?

The program trying to catch N{1}(j,i)=1 and it does it properly.I want it to stop when N{1}(j,i)=0.

You want the third condition to execute the i==1 and j==4. However, this also meets the conditions of the first elseif:

elseif (i==1) && (j>1 || j<m)

This is because you use "or" instead of "and". When j==4, it is >1. Because of the or, it doesn't matter that it is <m. Try this instead: elseif (i==1) && (j>1 && j<m)

Use the continue keyword.

for i=1:50
    for j=1:50
        if j==i
            continue; % breaks the inner for loop at the current iteration
        else
            % Do stuff here
            fprintf('i=%d, j=%d\n',i,j);

    end
