MATLAB: How to sort orders of rows

Hi, I have a matrix, which I need to sort in two group: First group: Pick first 5 rows (and all columns) and leave next five rows and again pick another five, leave next five and so on. Second group: Pick only those which were not selected in first group.

idx=reshape(1:size(A,1),5,[]);
m=size(idx,2);
idx1=idx(:,1:2:end);
idx2=idx(:,2:2:end);
A1=A(idx1(:),:)
A2=A(idx2(:),:)

A_avg = cellfun(@(x) mean(x(:,1)), A); % get average of first columns
[~,idx] = sort(A_avg);
A_sorted = A(idx);

This arrange the cell array A, using the average of first column, in an ascending order.

MATLAB: How to remove the index number

It's not clear what you mean. A for loop has to have an index (loop iteration variable), though you're free to use it or ignore it in the loop. Also if you want A to change (somehow) in the loop, you're going to have to have A on the left side of an equals sign.
