MATLAB: How to make changes to the Signal Builder block from the command line in Simulink 6.2 (R14SP2)

I would like to write a script to run my model with various different inputs using the Signal Builder block. I would like to know what commands I can use to control the Signal Builder block from the command line.

This bug has been fixed in Release 2007a (R2007a). For previous product releases, read below for any possible workarounds:

We have verified that documentation on the command line API for the Signal Builder block is incomplete in Simulink.

For help on the command line API for the Signal Builder block, use the following command:

help signalbuilder

For example, to add another group to the attached model, first save the model, then run the following command:

signalbuilder('sigbuilddemo/Signal Builder','append',[1:10],rand(1,10),'Random Noise','Group 2');

To change the active group to the newly created Group 2, run the following command:

signalbuilder('sigbuilddemo/Signal Builder','activegroup',2);

By "Sheet By Sheet" I guess you are referring to the Groups in the Signal Builder.

You can the following command to change the group name to run it individually based on its Index number.

  block = 'Model_Name/Signal Builder';
  signalbuilder(block,'activegroup',i);

i = index

The code snipet will set the Group as the active Group based on the index provided.

  sim('Model_name');

This change has been incorporated into the documentation in Release 2009b (R2009b). For previous releases, read below for any additional information:

There is a bug in the documentation in the way appending new groups to the Signal Builder block is explained.

When appending signals in the block, the signal name and the group name are both required fields. The following commands will append signals to a new group in the block:

block = signalbuilder([], 'create', [0 5], {[2 2];[0 2]});
signalbuilder(block, 'set', 2, 1, [0 5], [2 0])
signalbuilder(block, 'set', 1, 1, [], [])
signalbuilder(block, 'append', [0 2.5 5], [0 2 0],'Signal 2','Group 2')
