MATLAB: How to integrate Polarion software with Simulink Requirements

polarionSimulink CheckSimulink Requirements

Our company is using Siemens Polarion software for requirements authoring and management.
How can I integrate Polarion with Simulink Requirements?

Best Answer

Currently, the following workflows are possible with Simulink Requirements and Polarion:
1) Solution provided by MathWorks:
You can exchange requirements from external tools such as Polarion with Simulink Requirements using the industry standard ReqIF format.
ReqIF exported from Polarion can be imported into Simulink Requirements to view and create traceability to the Simulink model. You can navigate back to Polarion from the requirement imported into Simulink Requirements. Please see the "Import Requirements from ReqIF Files" section on the following documentation page for more information:
It is also possible in R2019a to unlock and edit the requirements in Simulink Requirements and update Polarion with the changes using a ReqIF export from Simulink Requirements. Starting with R2019b, links to the Simulink model are included in the export. See the following documentation for Round Trip Workflows with ReqIF Files:
See the following documentation from Siemens PLM on ReqIF Import/Export:
2) Solution provided by Siemens PLM:
Siemens PLM provide and support a tool for Polarion-Simulink integration called "Polarion Connector for Simulink". You can download it here:
The tool allows bi-directional traceability between Simulink models and Polarion REQUIREMENTS Work Items. You can navigate from Simulink model elements to their associated Polarion REQUIREMENTS Work Item and vice versa.
Please contact the vendor Siemens PLM for any queries or support regarding this tool.
