MATLAB: How to install Release 13 with Service Pack 1 (R13sp1) products

How do I install Release 13 with Service Pack 1 (R13sp1) products?

Should R13sp1 be installed over an existing R13 installation?

I have used the R13sp1 CDs or web downloads to install MATLAB R13sp1 and licensed products. However, if I install an R13sp1 toolbox into an existing R13 installation, the installer fails to recognize that MATLAB is installed.

Release 13 with Service Pack 1 (R13SP1) contains many products that are updated with new features and/or major bug fixes.

To ensure proper functionality, download and reinstall the updated versions of MATLAB 6.5.1 and all licensed products into a new installation directory. Do not install into an existing R13 installation.

Also, R13SP1 toolboxes can only be installed and run with R13SP1 MATLAB installation. If you are installing R13SP1 for the first time, you shoud reinstall all of your R13SP1 products into a new installation directory.
