MATLAB: How to get the old shorctus back in Simulink 8.0 (R2012b)

In previous versions, I used to zoom in and out of a model using 'r' and 'v' respectively. I would like to return to these shortcuts.
Furthermore, the mouse wheel's up/down used to be scrolling up and down withing a model window.

Currently, there is no option to return to the old ‘r’ and ‘v’ shortcuts to zoom in and out in Simulink 8.0 (R2012b).
As a workaround, there is an option in Simulink to change the mouse scroll control. To change this setting, please navigate in your model to ‘File’ -> ‘Simulink Preferences’ ->Edit Defaults’ -> ‘Scroll wheel controls zooming’. This box can be checked or unchecked, resulting in two scenarios:
Checked:
Model Scrolling is controlled by holding the Ctrl key and scrolling the mouse wheel. Model zooming is controlled by just scrolling the mouse wheel.
Unchecked (i.e. pre R2012b behavior):
Model Scrolling is controlled by just scrolling the mouse wheel. Model zooming is controlled by holding the Ctrl key and hitting + or – on the keyboard.
On a MAC machine, the Ctrl key would be replaced by the Apple Command key.
