MATLAB: How to get the file name as the title of the figure window

hi,

I have the GUI and I want to get the name of the selected file as the title of the figure window.

 [baseFileName,folder]=uigetfile('*'); % read the input image
 -
 -
 -
 figure('name',sprintf('file name is %d',baseFileName),'NumberTitle','off');

I tries in this way, but couldn't get the result.

Can any one help me.

Try to replace

    sprintf('file name is %d',baseFileName)

    sprintf('file name is %s',baseFileName)

Since the value of baseFileName is a character string, %s is the appropriate format specifier.

Ok and Cancel buttons are hardcoded in inputdlg. You can copy the code of inputdlg.m and make changes in the CancelHandle String as shown in below code snippet.

You’re almost there!

Add a sprintf call and it does what you want:

title(sprintf('FILE %s: X vs Y (dB Mag)', FILE_NAME))

and:

savefig(sprintf('FILE %s: X vs Y.fig', FILE_NAME))

I tested the title call. Since I don’t want to write the file to my computer, I didn’t test the savefig call. It should work. (It would likely help to include the figure handle as the first argument in the savefig call, just to be certain it’s doing what you want it to, although that’s snot required.)
