The following introduces a library file and installation instructions that will allow you to continue using the R2008a Beta. These instructions assume a default installation.
1. Quit MATLAB.
2. Using the 'Finder', navigate to
/Applications/MATLAB_R2008a/bin/maci64 and back up or rename the file called libmwservices.dylib. If you have installed MATLAB to a non-default location, please first navigate to the installation directory, then 'bin' and then 'maci64' to find and rename libmwservices.dylib.
3. Download libmwservices.zip (under the 'Related Documents/Files' section of this solution) and extract libmwservices.dylib to the same directory as in step 2.
4. Launch MATLAB. You should now be able to open MATLAB without seeing the expiration warning.
