MATLAB: How to create a clickable timeline using app designer, with play/pause button

I am creating an app with app designer in 2019b. What I am trying to do is to creating a clickable timeline, where you can use to make the plot of data at that particular time instance visible.

I'm quite new to app designer and have tried to use slider but had no luck so far. Anyone can help me on what object to choose?

Actually I've solved this myself, in case anyone else is interested:

Use slider as an interactive timeline. Set the value of the slider equal to the current time of the plot, then as the plot starts, it will update the slider value.

Thanks for the follow up, I've worked around it (by excluding the panels) for now.

I just tried using a simple app and it all works! Not sure what I was doing last time but glad it works, sorry for the false alert!

You could try changing your startup to just this instead.

        function startupFcn(app, a)
            app.a=arduino(app.port,'uno');
        end

Now remove the arduino(app.port,'uno'); line from your RUNButtonPushed(app, event) function.

This way you only create the arduino object once when you startup the app and then after that all you do is send signals with the button. I do not have an arduino nearby to test this on unfortunately.
