MATLAB: How to access new USB devices from Measurement Computing using the Data Acquisition Toolbox

I have one of the new USB devices from Measurement Computing (USB-1024LS, USB-1024HLS, USB-1208LS, USB-1208FS, USB-1608LS, USB-1208LS, or USB-DIO96H/50) and the Data Acquisition Toolbox does not recognize it.

This enhancement has been incorporated in Release 2006a (R2006a). For previous product releases, read below for any possible workarounds:
Measurement Computing recently changed the names of several of their USB devices. Version 2.7 (R14SP3) and earlier of the Data Acquisition Toolbox cannot access these renamed devices.
To work around this issue, download the attached version of the mwmcc.ini file. Here are the required steps:
1. Quit MATLAB.
2. Locate the INI-file:
$MATLAB\toolbox\daq\daq\private\mwmcc.ini
(where $MATLAB is the MATLAB root directory on your machine, as returned by typing
matlabroot
at the MATLAB command prompt.)
and rename this file to mwmcc.ini.old
3. Download the attached file. Place the new file in the same directory mentioned in step 2.
4. Restart MATLAB.
5. Issue the following command at the MATLAB prompt:
rehash toolboxcache
