MATLAB: How is the IP address of the target assigned in xPC Target 4.1 (R2009a)

I would like to know how the target's IP address is assigned in xPC Target. I would like to know if this is done by the bootdisk or if it is done by the network.

The Target PC's IP address is assigned when you boot it with the boot disk. This is based on the setting in the XPCEXPLR GUI. To set this value in the XPCEXPLR GUI, you will have to get a static IP address from your network administrator so that this address does not get assigned to other machines on the network.
Follow these workflow steps:
1. Get a static IP address from your network admin that you can use
2. Use this while creating the bootdisk in the XPCEXPLR GUI
3. Boot the target with the bootdisk from step 2. Now the target gets the IP address assigned to it.
