MATLAB: How exactly farnebacks opticalflow method works

Using matlab for farneback's method i have the flow parameter result that contains Magnitude,Orientation,Vx and Vy. Is these the results for the entire video including all frames? or is it the vectors between the two last frames? im really confused about this i hope i explained it well!

"flow = estimateFlow(opticFlow,I) estimates the optical flow of the input image, I, with respect to the previous image"

So only the previous image is considered, not the entire video.

The flow variable output from estimateFlow function is of type opticalFlow and has all the information. You can access them using the dot (.) operator.

For e.g.

vx = flow.Vx;
vy = flow.Vy;
or = flow.Orientation;
mag = flow.Magnitude;

Try to insert a drawnow command to allow Matlab to update the display.

It will be faster to create the axes and image objects once before the loop and update the 'CData' property inside the loop only.
