With the introduction of Cody Coursework, I'm often asked how students can use MATLAB on the desktop to solve assigned programming problems.

This is why MathWorks has made the Test Suite visible to students. Students are encouraged to use MATLAB on their computer to solve problems. To make this possible, students simply copy and paste the Test Suite code into a MATLAB script which, in turn, calls their solution. Once satisfied, they then copy their solution into Cody Coursework and submit it for assessment.

A good way to provide hints to students is to use the msg input argument with assert in your test suites. For example, you could use this syntax for assert:

where

is a string that contains your hint.

MATLAB: Copy assignments in Cody Coursework

Currently this feature is not available. Only the author of the course can copy his assignments and not the instructors.

One workaround is:

1) The author of the course creates a new course. He then copies the assignments to that course.

2) Then give to the MathWorks Technical Support team details of the course and the details of the instructor who they should give ownership of that course.
