MATLAB: How can i read a video and convert the first frame into an image

i use this code and i have this error: A valid figure or axes handle must be specified

See my attached demo where I save out all frames. You can adapt it to quit just after 1 frame if you want.

MATLAB: >> VideoReader Error using VideoReader (line 160) FILENAME must be specified.

I get the same error message if I simply call VideoReader from the command line as

 >> VideoReader
 Error using VideoReader (line 135)
 FILENAME must be specified.

As per the documentation at VideoReader you need to provide a file name as

 >> vidObj = VideoReader('xylophone.mp4');

or using another file name that is specific to your work.

numFrames = 0;
iwant = cell([],1) ;
while hasFrame(vidObj)
    F = readFrame(vidObj);

numFrames
