MATLAB: Hide a .bat file run from Command Window

Hi!

I'm running a program in batch mode using Matlab.

When I'm executing this bat file (!Run.bat) Matlab displays the entire simulation from the program (takes about 18 seconds).

When I execute the file with dos('Run.bat &') it runs in about 2 seconds, but Matlab skips the run completely.

So, my question is: Is there some way to run my .bat file without making Matlab show the entire simulation in the Command Window but not 'skip' the simulation?

You can run any command in the background by using a BAT-file which contains the command you would like to run. For example, if you want to start MATLAB in the background and run a command, you can create the following BAT-file:

@echo off

Then, inside MATLAB, the following command will run the script in the background:

Attached is an example BAT-file: "test_bat.bat".

MATLAB: Start system command or run batchfile in background

The solution was to run the batchfiles as following: system('start /b yourbatchfile.bat'). The /b will prevent the command shell from opening a new window. I realise now that this question was more of a windows command shell question than a Matlab one.
