MATLAB: GUIDE, calling functions

Hi all, might just be me, but I am having a hard time finding som info on GUIDE that I can use, I know nothing of GUIDE, but I know how to use and do code in matlab, but my problem is how to make a GUIDE that executes a function which lies in a seperate m-file when pushing a pushbutton

and also how to run a function with parameters, when i have two textboxes and a button, still running a function in a seperate m-file.

Is this even possible? searched google and mathworks without getting a usable answer.

Andrew - I created a simple GUI following your example (from above) and observed the same error message. I did notice that the figure1_CloseRequestFcn was never called though (I put a break point in this function). What I had to do was to go in to GUIDE and right-click on the figure1 to bring up the pop-up menu and choose View Callbacks and select CloseRequestFcn so that the GUI would be aware of this callback (it isn't enough just to copy and paste the code into the m file). Try making this "assignment" or "link" and re-run your code.

You are using R2014a or earlier (R2011a it appears), and your GUIDE-created GUI is missing a function uipanel2_CreateFcn

You can probably add the following to your code:

function uipanel2_CreateFcn(varargin)
%dummy function to satisfy GUIDE
