MATLAB: Do I get “License Manager Error -89”

MATLAB

When starting MATLAB I receive the following error:
MATLAB cannot be started. This platform not authorized by license (-89,310)
Why do I get this error, and how can I resolve the issue?

Best Answer

"License Manager Error -89" indicates that your license file is invalid because it was generated for a different operating system.
For example, this error would occur if a Linux license file was used for a Windows MATLAB installation.
To resolve this issue, you will need to activate again and specify the correct operating system.
There are two ways to activate:
Activate automatically using the activation application.
