MATLAB: Format long in Msgbox

Hi everyone, I'm trying to get a value in a msgbox to become format long but it doesn't work, only shows in scientific form. I used the format long in the beginning of the code and tried using num2string but was unsuccessfull in both cases. Does anyone know a way to solve this problem.

Use %f not %d

You can tell msgbox, inputdlg, warndlg, errordlg, and questdlg (and maybe others?) to use a tex interpreter. They all default to no interpreter, I believe. Here is an example for msgbox:

CreateStruct.Interpreter = 'tex';
CreateStruct.WindowStyle = 'non-modal'; % you need to supply this field too. default is non-modal
msgbox('\bf This is bold', CreateStruct);

If you have one variable that is single precision and one that is double precision, you can perform your calculation with them as you normally would. The result will be single precision.

According to the documentation on Floating-Point Numbers, specifically Single-Precision Operations:

You can perform basic arithmetic operations with single and any of the following other classes. The result is always single:

    single
    double
    char
    logical
