values

i have in A=[2 5 6 3 ] B=[3],B1=[4]

i want to compare A,B and A,B if value of B is found in A, i want to display value is found

please help

As long as you're simply doing what you asked (to find a single scalar value in a vector), you can use any(A==B) like this:

A=[2 5 6 3 ];
B=3;
if any(A==B)
  message = sprintf('The B value of %d is in A.', B);
  uiwait(msgbox(message));
end

Needless to say, you can use the B1 variable instead of B.

MATLAB does not have transitive "==" operators. (I don't know of any programming languages which do.) The section of code

(b1==b(1)||b(6)||b(11))

does not mean "(b1 is equal to b(1)), or (b1 is equal to b(6)), or (b1 is equal to b(11))". Each of the sections between the "||" is evaluated separately, so instead it means "(b1 is equal to b(1)), or (b(6) is true), or (b(11) is true)" and in MATLAB, a value is true if it is not 0. (Except that testing NaN in that syntax generates an error.)

If you want to test b1 against those three values, you need to write the "==" tests out,

b1 == b(1) || b1 == b(6) || b1 == b(11)

or you can use

ismember(b1, [b(1), b(6), b(11)])

or more compactly

ismember(b1, b([1 6 11]))

MATLAB: Error-undefined function ‘eq’

You can't use this kind of comparison on structure arrays.

It sounds like you can use ismember() but you have to make the comparison outside of a structure array.

For example:

A = 1:3;
B = 2;
if any(ismember(A,B))
disp('True');
else
disp('False');
end

I realize you are trying to also capture the similar values, (not the simple thing I have done), but the main problem you are facing is trying to make the comparison directly on structure arrays.
