I ma trying to download/install MinGW 6.3.0 from MinGW-w64.org, however the following error is generated:

Download Error

Failed to download the third-party software:

MinGW 6.3.0 from MinGW-w64.org

This is required by:

MATLAB Support for MinGW-w64 C/C++ Compiler

There is a way to workaround it, but it ssems to be valid only for erlier Matlab versions. Any suggestion how to install MinGW MinGW in Matlab 2019b?

This is a known issue. Our developers are aware about it and will try to fix it in future releases.

You can use the following way to install MinGW until this gets fixed:

1. Download MinGW 6.3:

https://sourceforge.net/projects/mingw-w64/files/Toolchains%20targetting%20Win64/Personal%20Builds/mingw-builds/6.3.0/threads-posix/seh/x86_64-6.3.0-release-posix-seh-rt_v5-rev2.7z

2. Extract the ZIP-file in an empty directory. Ensure that there are no spaces in the path, for example: C:\MinGW-64

3. Create the environment variable MW_MINGW64_LOC like you can find here: http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/223482), which points to the path mentioned in 2, for example.:

MW_MINGW64_LOC=C:\MinGW-64

4. Restart MATLAB and then call 'mex -setup' in MATLAB in order to check and configure MinGW. The output should show something like: "MEX configured to use 'MinGW64 Compiler (C)'...".

1) The first issue you are facing can sometimes occur if the third-party site is not reachable. For more information about this issue, look into the following MATLAB Answers post:

2) As MATLAB detects the MinGW Compiler through Environment Variable 'MW_MINGW64_LOC', verify if it is set properly by running the following command:

mex -v -setup C

If MinGW is configured correctly, the output of the above command should be along the following lines, while looking for MinGW:

... Looking for compiler 'MinGW64 Compiler (C)' ...
... Looking for environment variable 'MW_MINGW64_LOC' ...Yes('C:\MATLAB\SupportPackages\R2016a\MW_MinGW_4_9').
... Looking for file 'C:\MATLAB\SupportPackages\R2016a\MW_MinGW_4_9\bin\gcc.exe' ...Yes.
... Looking for folder 'C:\MATLAB\SupportPackages\R2016a\MW_MinGW_4_9' ...Yes.
Found installed compiler 'MinGW64 Compiler (C)'.
MEX configured to use 'MinGW64 Compiler (C)' for C language compilation.

If MATLAB is not able to find "gcc.exe", it is possible that MinGW is not installed correctly. You can reinstall MinGW again and check if it resolves the issue. Also, make sure that the MinGW version you are using is 4.9.2. I hope this helps!
