MATLAB: Error on start up: Error on starting desktop. MatLab2014a

Question

I get a Nullpointer exception when i try to start matlab2014a in mac osx 10.10.2

I have set read and write premisions to ~/.matlab and reinstalling matlab but I still get the same error.
