MATLAB: Doesn’t ButtonDownFcn work for left-click

hi everyone, i would to know if it's possible to have the same behavior for the ButtonDownFcn for the left-click instead of right-click. i have to set invisible an editText when i click on another editText. Now it works only with right click. i've simply used this line code:

set(handles.editGIRI_r,'Visible','Off');

Look at the documentation for a uicontrol's ButtonDownFcn, Callback, and Enable properties. The ButtonDownFcn for a uicontrol will execute on left-click if the uicontrol is not enabled (off or inactive.) If the uicontrol is enabled, its Callback executes instead.

I verified the above with your example (R2014a). If I left-clicked within the 5-pixel border around the text box, then the callback fired. If I right-clicked within the 5-pixel border around the text box or within the text box, then the callback fired.

The other post also goes on to say that

I took your code, and modified it as follows

 h=uicontrol('style','text','buttondownfcn',@Click) ;
 set(h,'Enable','off');

Once I ran the above, I could left-click or right-click within the text box (uicontrol) and observe that the callback fired.
