MATLAB: Does the download agent fail to start when I use Camino to download

I am trying to download MATLAB but the download agent does not start automatically. If I double click on the download_agent.jnlp, it also does not start.

There is a bug in Camino that prevents it from associating Java Web Start (.jnlp) files unless they already contain the .jnlp extension. If you rename the download_agent file to download_agent.jnlp, it should start the Download Agent when you open it.
