MATLAB: Does the AFFYREAD function read in the CHP file slowly in the Bioinformatics Toolbox 1.1 (R14)

I am trying to read in a CHP file with AFFYREAD. It takes approximately 10 minutes to read in a 5 MB file, while it takes a few seconds to read in other file types with a comparable size.

This enhancement has been incorporated in Release 14 Service Pack 3 (R14SP3). For previous product releases, read below for any possible workarounds:
This problem can occur when loading files over a network connection with virus checking software running in the background. To work around this problem, save the file to a local drive before reading it in with AFFYREAD.
A MATLAB user has reported a significant decrease in the time required to read CHP files when the corresponding CEL file is located in the same directory as the CHP file.
