MATLAB: Does MATLAB 7.0 (R14) become very slow in generating plots or docking windows, after I have used it for an extended period of time

After using MATLAB 7.0 (R14) for an extended session, in which I have been docking and undocking windows regularly, it takes longer and longer for MATLAB to generate plots and figures, even for very simple plots. It also takes a very long time to dock and undock windows, or to tile the various windows in the MATLAB Desktop.

This bug has been fixed in Release 14 Service Pack 3 (R14SP3). For previous product releases, read below for any possible workarounds:
We have verified that there is a bug in MATLAB 7.0 (R14), related to the repeated docking and undocking of the windows. There is currently no known workaround.
