MATLAB: Do I receive the error “Unable to login because user has no entitlements associated with activation key” when I try to use MATLAB Online

When I try to use MATLAB Online, I receive the following error:

Unable to login because user has no entitlements associated with activation key.

Why do I receive this error, and how can I resolve the issue?

This error indicates one of the following:

• Your MathWorks Account is not associated with a license.
• Your MathWorks Account is associated with a license, but activation access has been disabled.

To resolve this issue, you will need to contact your license administrator.
