MATLAB: Do I receive an error regarding the need for glibc 2.3.4 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux when launching MATLAB R2007a

When I launch MATLAB I receive the following error:
[matlab@mleu-170d RHEL3 matlab]$ /usr/local/matlab/R2007a_it/bin/matlab
/usr/local/matlab/R2007a_it/bin/glnx86/MATLAB: /lib/tls/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.3.4' not found (required by /usr/local/matlab/R2007a_it/bin/glnx86/libut.so)

This bug has been fixed in Release 2007b (R2007b). For previous product releases, read below for any possible workarounds:
MATLAB 7.4 (R2007a) is not supported and will not run on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.0. For more information on MATLAB's system requirements, navigate to the link below:
