This error can occur if the PLP you are using has been entered incorrectly or if you are using the wrong PLP for the release of MATLAB you are installing.
First, make sure that the PLP you are using matches the release of MATLAB you would like to install. The first two digits of the PLP indicates the release number of MATLAB that can be installed with it. NOTE: Beginning with Release 2006a, release names no longer correspond directly with the first number in the PLP. For example: Release 2006b PLPs begin with a 16 and Release 2007a PLPs begin with a 17.
Newer PLPs are backwards compatible to R14.
If the correct PLP for the MATLAB release is being used, confirm that you are entering the PLP exactly as it appears in the passcode email sent to you from passcode@mathworks.com.
