MATLAB: Do I receive a PLP error when installing MATLAB R2008a or newer

I am installing MATLAB R2008a (or later) and receive the following error after entering my Personal License Password (PLP):
The key you entered appears to be a Personal License Password (PLP) from a previous release.

You are receiving this error because you are entering the wrong key into the installer. A Personal License Password (PLP) is for use with releases of MATLAB R2007b and earlier. In order to install this release you will need a File Installation Key (FIK) for this particular release.

Each PLP is specific to a release. So for example to install MATLAB R2006b, you must use an R2006b PLP or to install R14SP3 you must use an R14SP3 PLP.
