MATLAB: Do I receive a “dyld: /Applicati​ons/MATLAB​_SV13/bin/​mac/MATLAB Undefined symbols” when launching the Student Version of MATLAB R13 on MacOSX

Why do I receive the following errors when starting the Student Version of MATLAB under Mac OS X?
dyld: /Applications/MATLAB_SV13/bin/mac/MATLAB Undefined symbols:
_svGetHardcodedString
_svMatlabImageDatePrettyfied
Trace/BPT trap

The only workaround to this problem is to remove all versions of MATLAB from your Macintosh and reinstall MATLAB Student Version R13.

If this fails to fix the problem, send the install_matlab.out file located in your root MATLAB directory (The directory to which MATLAB was installed) to support@mathworks.com and reference solution number 33690 in the subject field.
NOTE: This error can be caused if the Jaguar Patch is installed. The Jaguar Patch should not be installed for student versions of MATLAB R13 on the MAC 10.2.x.
